Disabled people don't just face discrimination as workers in the society that we live in but also as customers. Here is a case in point:
"Arcadia group, one of the UK's largest clothing retailers, is facing legal
action over the inaccessibility of one of its stores.
The Disability Rights
Commission (DRC) is supporting a disabled shopper who is unable to get into a
branch of Burton in Stafford.
The DRC says it has evidence that 40% of the
group's stores are inaccessible."
The woman at the centre, a wheelchair user called Joanne Holland, is taking legal action against Arcadia with the help of the Disability Rights Commission. Disability rights activists everywhere will, I am sure, wish Ms. Holland all the best.
